Apocalyptic Wonderland.

May 17, 2013 in Projects

As if it wasn't already in complete fan-girl heaven to work so closely with members of one of my favorite bands (Halou!) their current project, Stripmall Architecture, has brought the concept of album art to a whole other level. Thankfully our paths somehow crossed, and I had the privilege to be the lucky artist behind their album Feathersongs for Factory Girls.

The Mystery Parade worked his design magic on every release and transformed this project into something much larger, and with incredible fluidity and depth across the board. Max released a hardcover book chronicling the evolution of the project, Apoxalyptic Wonderland.

This book is a comprehensive overview of all the designs created for San Francisco band Stripmall Architecture's second album, "Feathersongs For Factory Girls". Centered around Dallas-based artist Jody Pham's key illustration, The Mystery Parade has created an astonishing amount of designs for one independently released album and its related releases, including singles, a DVD, two Japanese compilations, a lyric book, a poster set, and more.

A glimpse inside Apocalyptic Wonderland: The Visual Language of Feathersongs for Factory Girls. You can still grab a limited edition copy here.

April 04, 2013 in Shows

I'll be a live visual artist at Art Love Magic's monthly Art & Coffee event on April 12th at BuzzBrews in Deep Ellum! I've done several of these in the last year, and it's always a carefree, wonderful time for everyone involved. Come out and enjoy the beautiful weather, fresh coffee, and some of the most creative people in Dallas doing what they love.

This edition will encompass a Jazz theme, and feature a swing dancing demonstration by the Acme Swing Company, DJ Sissy Ross spinning her special brand of acid jazz,

Patricia Ann Islas playing the vibraphone, and much more!

I'm definitely more art than writing inclined, but you can find sneak peeks of my work, daily life, and see my Link Love posts here.
