New work, and Summer shows!

Ah, Summer is in the air, which means I'm spending a lot more time indoors. This Texas heat is no joke! I've been drawing up a storm, and taking advantage of glorious air conditioning, and my new Audio Technica turntable. July will be a super busy whirlwind, so I'm trying to take advantage of some time off while I can. My next piece will be an interactive one on my Facebook fan page. I'll be posting more on that soon.

If you're in my neck of the woods, I have two shows next month:

This was such fun to draw. I never tire of drawing organs! Her gloves were modeled after a pair of vintage gloves that belonged to my grandmother.

I'll always be drawn to a monochromatic palette, but I'm really enjoying adding these tiny splashes of color lately.

This beauty was drawn after a perfect day of brunch, bloody mary's, and conversations with a friend. I didn't realize it until later, but her neck piece kind of reminds me of the Crucify EP cover by Tori Amos.

This is a mini-version of a larger piece I plan to do on a wood panel.
